Mali Igraci is a children’s international folkdance ensemble from Amsterdam. It exists for over 25 years and has produced several generations of wonderful dancers. M.I. is a performing group, which means, that our rehearsals are not just a gathering of children learning dances from all over the world.

We do sometimes put simple village dances on stage, but we prefer to present folkdance in a choreographic manner, trying to maintain as much authentic elements as possible. As we have a very close relationship with famous choreographer, dance teacher and inspirer for many people all over the world, our dear Mr. Vasilescu from Roumania, we are specialised in Roumanian folkdance. We perform a series of Roumanian choreographies from his hand as well as choreographies from Israel, Ireland, Africa, Serbia, Northern America and lots of other places.Of coarse we have a variety of Dutch choreographies, performed by the smallest children as well as our teenagers. We always perform in authentic costumes from the country or region of our dances. Most of the costumes are originals, sometimes we copy a costume as exact as possible when it is not available in an original state.
